Ricky always thought that
having friends would make a difference, but he’s still that same
big, dumb boy. He dreams about Shelley and wants to ask her out on a date.
They’d sit in the dark watching The Empire Strikes Back and she’d
put her head on his shoulder. He’d try not to break her.
Instead he watches the movie with Clifford who looks at him the way Shelley is supposed to. When he gets home he takes a razor blade from his drawer and re-opens old wounds. Now the one to get broken is the one who deserves it. |
